125 gr broad heads vs. 100 gr field tips
I need some confirmation - I purchased a Ten Point Titan (w/scope and AccuDraw50) model. I am practicing using 2219 XX75 Alum bolts with 100 gains field tips. The bow is sighted in using the 100 grain field tip. I suspect using 125 grain broad heads will not change shot placement at the pre-set scope dots at 20, 30 & 40 yds.Is this correct? Thx. |

The 125 grain broadheads will fly different. First, just the weight will make a difference, but also if it is a fixed blade broadhead, it will fly lower yet. If you are using a 125 fixed blade, you may be off as much as 6 inches low and probably left.

It will likely change your point of impact. They could be more accurate tho due to higher FOC percentage. I'd try a smaller 4 bladed BH (like Slick Tricks) they tend to minimize BH steering bolt for me. Good luck.

Most people do not want to do it, but shooting your broad heads alot is important to successful hunts. Broad heads can do some crazy things. They are not cheap and guys do not want to damage or dull them. But it is something you must do. Most B-Head makers sell replacement blades. sight your bow in for your heads and then pop in a set of blades. That is another reason I try to stick with the same head company. Once you get plenty in the box, you don't mind shooting them at the target as much. I had a hard time going from Muzzy to G5.
