Don't know whats wrong with my new parker bolts. Almost, ever time I fired one a vane would come. Anybody knowwhatmight be theproblem?The ones that came with crossbow are fine.

If theirs are fine sounds like you may have done something when fletching
yours,did you get the shaft prepped right?:)

I guess they camefrom factory like that. I was shooting them straight out of the package.

It does not make any differance who did the fletching if the release agent on the vanes from the molding process was not cleaned off they wont stick. Lee

I have had problems in the past with vanes just falling off from shot, but I always had it happen with old ones that sat on shelf for a while. I had a new six pack of Horton's once that sat in house for a while, then got out to use and had a problem similar to yours. I thought it was cause they where old. But it could just be a glue or prep problem like Lee spoke of.

Usually its either a glue or shaft cleaning problem. I have had the worst luck using Bohning Platinum glue. I clean shaft with acetone then clean bottom of vanes, even have ruffed them up wid fine grain sand paper! They still would fly off. I cured that problem, i started using Goats tuff glue!:)

Must be a factory process problem. My Parker vanes were ok but fletching didn't stay on as well as I had hoped. Not as bad as you speak tho. Started fletching my own. Using Goat Tough glue. Great. LocTight gel holds super but harder to work with as it sticks instantly. Bolt fletched with LT passed through 3/4" cedar board, fletching understandably was a bit 'stressed' but intact.
Have had great results spraying the fletch area with clear laquer before fletching. I'm in the process of spraying the last 7" of hunting bolts with white laquer, with short overspray (at the end away from vanes) to match the fireglo Blazer vanes, for better visability. If you don't like results, acetone removes it in seconds. Easier than hard to remove wraps. (Complements of another site member, who was kind enough to include vidio clip. Search under Size of Wraps? posted by me).
Started making own bolts too. Early results from installing 110 grain brass insert , 2" Blazers very promising.

I use loctite gel on mine, never had one come off, tried a bunch, i found this was the best for me. Lowes 3 or 4 dollars
