Occurrence Counters?

Is there anything on the market that just time and date stamps when something walks by rather than take a picture. Like a trail cam without the Camera??
I don't need to SEE every deer that walks by but I would like to know when they did.

Walmart sells a little cheap gizmo.....sells for about $8.00 or so.
It is a little digital clock that connects to a tree....then a fine black thread goes to another tree or anchor point.....when the deer walks thru the string , well the string trips the clock showing the date and time it was disturbed .
This item would be the ticket if one wanted to know the time a trail is being used.

I use and like them but they are fragile in the rain, I tilt them down toward the trip side and tape the seam on top.

They really shine in places that baiting is legal.

I was using that little guy 20 years ago.. Was cutting edge at the time but only triggered once when the string was pulled. El Cheapo digital watch set-up. Boy it was something many many moons ago but I was hoping for something that monitored multiple deer occurrences. Seems like it would be a great idea.
I fugure If I got a trail with 20 deer moving by thats where Iwant to be regardless of whether they are bucks or does. Have does and the bucks will follow..
I have been known to just tie a light piece if thread across a trail. When a deer broke the string I knew something had moved thru and you can even tell which direction by how the thread ended up.

Just get the cheapest digital trail cam you can that has a date/time stamp. Forget the pics and count blank exposures. If you do get something then it's just a bonus over what you wanted. As far as I know there is nothing like what you're looking for.

Thats probably the best idea. Here is something like what you want http://www.trailtimer.com/5event-tt500.htm
but at $135... might as well get a cheap digi and put a big sd card in it.

Only problem with a cheap digital camera is they will eat your lunch in batteries!
