Lumizone or Varizone?
Hey Excal guys & gals. I just got my first Excal, an Exocet 200 that I legally stole from the Cabela's Bargain Basement in Hamburg, Penn. while on vacation. It was a demo and had the scope mount installed but didn't come with a scope. I've got everything else to use with it so I was wondering if anyone in this forum has used the new Lumizone version of the Varizone and could give me any negatives or positives. They appear to be basically the same scope, with the Varizone being a 32 mm while the Lumizone is 40 mm and can light upwhile only beingabout $30.00 apart in price.

RE: Lumizone or Varizone?
Fine bow, congrats!! Had both scopes, can't go wrong w/ either one, you just need to decide if you want lit reticules or $30 bucks, lol.
I think the L-zone is the way to go, all kidding aside. |

The 40 MM is worth it IMO and you can use it with out batteries if you had to! The Varizone is is not not worth saving 30 bucks IMO.

RE: Lumizone or Varizone?
Thanks to all. I was leaning towards the Varizone because my brother-in-law has the Truglo version and it is one heavy awkward lookingscope. Plus the tube is so short it wouldn't fit on the Excal's rail with the supplied split rings and I would have to use high mounts. Since asking this question I have been able to hold and compare both the Lumizone & Truglo and my opinion is that the Lumizone islighter and appears to be the scope for me. It also appears to be a little clearer in optics and has less crosshairs to get confused with.It is still bulky looking in the back where the battery goes but being a longer tube makes it look less bulky than the Truglo. My brother-in-law likes the Truglo better so I guess to each his own. Thanks again.
