xbows with scopes...
 

I am sure this topic has been beat to death, but as a newbie, am looking for some opinions.

Myth or fact... that a riflescope cannot be used effectively on a crossbow? I have read up some on the kinetic energy issue, but have yet to get a definative answer, except from xbow scope manufacturers.

Well i use a rifle scope, 2 of them in fact. I have a 1.5x6 on my Phoenix and a 4x on Miss Vixen![8D]Never have had any trouble in 3 years. I am going to buy a Excal Lumizone, so i can use it fer 3-D shoots. Its setup from 10 to 50 yds. that will work well fer my intended use. When i hunt i just sight in couple inches high at 20 or 25 yds. Then just put the xhairs on top of back fer 35 yds. thats my max hunting range.[:o]

I've got a 3-9x40 nikon bcd that I like alot and run a couple inches high at 20-25 yards as well. (ten point elite HP)

I miss shooting a xbow. They are stupid accurate.. :)

I've used a Bushnell shotgun scope, a Leupold compact rifle scope and both worked very well. Have a new42 mm rifle scope that I'm going to put on my Excal anyday now.

Ok, here's the short version. Why? Why spend countless dollars on an xbow setup and then restrict yourself to a single aim point device? There's several options out there. As for scopes [my choice] there are Horton, 10 pt, Simmons, Excal, and Tru-Glow. The Horton, [bad stuff, fogs]10 pt [good stuff] Tru-Glow [expensive] all work on the principle of "this is close enough"Rarely will all of the aim points be dead nuts on this type.The Excal V-zone and L-zone will actually allow you to dial in any bow and arrow weight combo to be "spot on" from 10-50 yds. [Excludes Stryker] smart shoppers can get V-zone for $89.00 and L-zone [lit rets] for $119. DUH!!!
