I do that all the time, i even mark the rear one and cut it. So its 1/4 inch long and weighs aout 7 or 8 gr. :)

I reckon its better to use the flat noks or plastic noks, but the inserts will work fine.[:o]

I have never seen anyone using arrows of that size. I think they maybe to big fer arrow channel and string / claws of an Excal. Now they may work on other CB's that use those half moon noks.

I don't know alot about various size arrows, but have been told the danger in getting away from the "22" size is smaller diameter one sit deeper in the rail slot which means the string is no longer centered on back of arrow, same as going to big. Where yours fit here I have no idea, mean this as just a general warning type thing. I'd ask Dan Miller if it were me, regardless of bow brand, he knows them all.

RE: bolts

I cut halve of the 2219s this afternoon and layed them in the channel
on my horton dakota S/L and the string splits almost riht in the center
and it lays almost identical to the horton factory bolts
i will fletch a few tonight and give a go tommorow and report back.

that is if i can figure how to seting the nock slot of my bitzenberger
to get even spaceing of the fletch.

Mechmark: The problem[s] are/were w/ arrows NOT 22 diameter, sorry for any confusion on my part. Seems most xbows today are built for 22?? arrows, but I would worry a tad about 21?? or 24??.

UPDATE

i shot the 2219 XX75s today and bow do the group well.
yhe outshot my horton factory bolts and only drop about a 1,5 inch
at 30 with the red dot set for 20 .

there will be no need to use the 30 yd dot at 30 i think
i will see tomorrow wht she does at 40 and 50.

the great thing is i have absolutly zippo in these
except some time and fletching..

this has workrd out so well i have some 2216s from the early days
that i might give a try and see how they work.

later

RE: bolts

So now I'm an expert on Xbows after three weeks....Bolts are normally 22/64" on the OD..hence 2219...22 being diameter and 19 being wall thickness...there higher the number the thicker the wall. Excal offers bolts in sizes 2216 and 2219....carbon bolts are also 22/64 on the OD. As to lenght ; doing research..I noticed thatevery bow is different ,seeing four different bows from one maker , all stating the same lenght bolt, on one model thefield pointjust cleared the rail on another the field point extended into the stirrup , so can you shoot a 20" bolt in a bow that came with 22" as long as it clears the rail???...........do I ask too many questions..64
