From: Where the ducks don't come no more
Had an interesting happening in the store last week.
A gentleman wanted to test fire the Striker (the original, not the Desert).
I showed him the ins and outs and he took his first shot. He liked it. Loaded it up for the second shot to have another go. On the shot, I thought I heard parts skipping down the concrete range... (reminded me of some of Pete Shepley's old experiments)... sure enough.. bow came undone.
Upon inspection, it looks like the string acctually CUT THROUGH the nock of the bolt! You could see where the nock had been (and the pieces of the nock were what I heard flying down range), and the carbon fiber subsequently cut the string, and the vibrations popped the cable.
Could have happened to anyone, just an unfortunate happening I suppose. Seems the thing is too powerful for its own good!
Anyone heard of any issues with a stryker, or own one? Any feedback good or bad?

I like the feel and looks of the desert stryker much much better. Hopefully its not too big for its britches!

day-um![:-] Glad I can't even afford to look at one of those bad boys. I think with a hoss like that, I'd be looking to shoot 2219's or something instead of carbon. Of course, it wouldn't be blazing those bolts downrange at over 400 fps, but at least they wouldn't explode when you pull the trigger.
Suppose it's possible the bolt had an undiscovered crack and the shot finished it off?
