Case for Excalibur - will Plano Bow-Max work?

If someone could please verify this for me I'd certainly appreciate it. A couple of weeks ago when I had my Horton I bought a hard Plano Bow-Max crossbow case to store and transport my crossbow in. I cannot find anything telling me whether or not the Excalibur Exocet will fit in the case. If it wont I can return it to Basspro and atleast get $50 back.

What do you all carry your Excalibur in? I've read that a lot of people just buy a double gun case and break it down.

Thanks!

There is no hard case available that will fit the Excals yet, I break mine down into a compound case, fits like it was made for it!

That's what I kind of figured but was hoping it might fit. I dont like the case much anyway, only reason I bought it was because it fit my Horton decently and only cost $50.

What brand compound case is that Pydpiper or will any compound case generally work?

This is a cheapie Wall-Mart case, I bought two so I could get the extra straps and foam, I think I paid $20 a piece, but can't say for sure. I could easily have gotten away with one. Bass Pro sells the same one, the stirrup circles the handle and makes for very secure transportation.
A little hint, if you wander off to drink beer don't leave it in the sun..:D

My favorite part is when I get to the range, the compound guys all nod and say hello.. Until I open the case:D.. Place usually gets real quiet..

The Planto compound case, i have one to take my Exocet in. I just take the limbs off from stock and velcro strap them all in.[8D]

One hint for you take-down boys. Use antiseize/neverseize/coppaslip on the threads. You want an anti-galling agent to prevent permature wear on the threads. Steel against aluminum is a great way to gall the surface of the aluminum threads. A little goes along way and it is messy if you put too much on. Just us a tiny bit.

That is a really nice setup you have there. You put some thought into that layout. Guessing tips in the white canisters but whats in the blue? Wax stringers etc...?

Blue is the stringing aid, spare strings and a steel rule for maintaining brace height.
Thanks by the way!

Hey David, shouldn't that easy bake oven be spray painted gray?
