Modifying cocking rope/strap

I seen a post on here awhile back where someone modified their Horton cocking harness. I tried to search but couldn't find it. The problem is the snaps on the cocking strap seperating the serving on the bow string. I remember someone posted on how they modified theirs so they didn't have the problem. Thanks for any help!

Buck I believe that was me.
I went to Lowes for 1/2" conduit straps, straightened them in the shape of a "J" instead of the "P" shape they came in...I just hooked them to the existing snaps....works great.

RE: Modifying cocking rope/strap

the best way i found to avoid all that is to buy the old style Horton rope cocker, it has the aluminum plate that hooks the string and it does not damage the serving!

just saw one on ebay a day or so ago for like $25.00, i have one already but if i had the extra cash right now that baby wouldhave beenmine.

i also like it becuase you dont have to mark the string, it has 2 lil lines on the cocking plate that lines up perfectly with the arrow track in the rail and allows it to shoot exactly the same every time :)

if anyone is interested in getting one'shoot me a PMso i know to get in touch with youif i see another one on ebay.

I will check it out. I don't have the money to buy more stuff this season. I'm going to have to go with the modification. It'll work for now. I was shooting just fine with the other one. Besides the seperation of the serving. And I didn't even mark the serving. Just put the snaps on and guided it along. Thanks for the info. If anything comes up where I get some money I may do that.
