Arrow Question

I have a question that I need help with. I have a horton TR 175 crossbow that came with 20" lighting strike (7075-T9 2219) bolts.
Can I cut down my game getter (7074-T9 2219) arrows I have too 20" and re-fletch them? and does it matter witch end you cut off ?

RE: Arrow Question

you need to watch....if they were regular arrows for a vertical bow then. the nock end is often tapered and that's the end you need to cut off. good luck.:)

Another question: If I buy a arrow fletcher, which one should I get a right or left helical or straight fletch? Also, what degree offset?

This is what i am getting. jojan mono fletcher right hand with the bolt nock receiver with the helical. bowhunterssuperstore has the jig fer $34.95 or .99. The bolt nock receiver is about $8, i will get them both at same time.

RE: Arrow Question

You may wish to try an Arizona E-Z fletcher. Do not buy the one for carbons [blue] as it's for smaller diameter carbons than xbow uses. Get the one for alum even if you shoot carbons. I was advized by Danny Miller to get the rt hand helical [which is 8 degrees] and they shoot like darts. The AZ E-Z has a cap that goes on last to align the ends of the arms, so do not use instant set super glue. The gel types work fine. there is a 4 part video on this/these on Excal by Gary L if you want to take the time to find it.
