Excalibur
Hello folks, brand new here.
I was hoping to get a bit of advice regarding my upcomming purchase of a xbow. The chance of getting a moose tag in the area my hunt camp is in is just about nil for the rifle hunt. Consequently we are switching to the bow season where opportunities are better for getting a tag. I have to get a xbow and I plan on getting a Vortex. I'm the kind of guy who likes to save up and purchase the best then hopefully be done with it. I was thinking very seriously about the Exomax but now that the Vortex is out I am leaning that way. Is there anything negative about either xbow and is there anything I should know? Thanks very much! Terry |
RE: Excalibur
They're the best! One is just faster than the other. I have the Exocet 200 and i love mine, you can't go wrong with either.[8D]

RE: Excalibur
I am very similar to you in the purchases I make. I don't want three crossbows which I am dissapointed in, instead, I just want one perfect one. Having said that what did I go with?

RE: Excalibur
I also have an Exocet and it is great. I am getting 2 1/2" groups at 50 yards shooting on a shooting stick. Excalibur also makes the Equinox which is the same Xbow as the Exomax only on the shorter thumbhole stock. My only suggestion is that you handle and try one before you buy it. I went to a dealer and after handeling the voretex I found that I didn't care for the thumbhole stock. To me it felt awkward, but I don't own anything else that is on a thumbhole stock.

RE: Excalibur
Well,I guess I would sayExcaliber is one of the best; and I would make a suggestion do to the fact that cocking by hand or with a string cocker your hight enters into the equation strongly for the exomax 6ft 2 inches or taller for the exocet 6ftand so on. Of course if you are going to get a crank cockerthe problem is eliminated.
I have an Exocet and a 10 point and both are excellant and very accurate. Lee |
RE: Excalibur
Lee you are correct on the height issue. I am 5'3" and at first had a female dog of a time cocking the Exocet! Then I shortened the cocker a whole bunch and its not an issue any more. The only problem I have with the thumb hole stock is accessing the safety easily. But its not a problem really. Of all the bows I've shot I think its the best for me. Question is is it the best for Terry????
The lowly Vixen has taken moose so the Vortex will be great! |
RE: Excalibur
Do any of you guys know if the complaints on the new triggers have been fixed? Went to the forum and read for a while and it seems that it has not, maybe I missed it. Any one know if it has been resolved?
