Righty Lefty??
Hey guys here's a question. Is anybody ambidextrious (sp?) enough to shoot their crossbow both right and left handed? My problem is this: My stepson is left handed and new to compounds. He shoots OK but not consistant enough to hunt. I can't tell if its a sight problem because I can't hit the friggin yard shooting his bow left handed (I'm Right-handed). I was wonderring if I got him a crossbow and sighted it right handed would it hit nearly the same (given same sight picture) left handed?
A point I should add which is not to be overlooked is that, he is weak and it may be a while before he can pull the low limit of 40#...I would like to get him in the woods sooner than his weak bird arms will allow. I'm looking at a crossbow for this reason primarily. I ask a few questions in this forum..I'm not new to crossbows. I had one in the early 80's that I made out of a kit in woodshop. Bought a Barnett Wildcat just after that and then graduated to a Horten Hunter later on. I never "hunted" with them but enjoyed shooting them. I like where the modern crossbows are heading and while I don't see myself giving up the compound..I like to tinker with different weapons, and utilize as much season as is available. |
RE: Righty Lefty??
I do practice and shoot both left and right handed with my crossbow. I'm right handed/left eye dominant. I shoot compounds left handed and guns/xbows primarily right handed. I have not noticed any point of impact changes between switching, and I practice out to 50 yds.

RE: Righty Lefty??
Same with me, I can shoot just as good left as right, if the bow is stabilized. No affect on POI.

RE: Righty Lefty??
I'm left handed and Right eye dominant. I'm most comfortable shooting right handed but have shot 2 dear (gun) left handed. Have him try both sides.
