It is very secure in there, whenI said I bought two it was for good reason.. They only come with three straps so the stock would have been loose in there. Also, the foam on the top didn't come with it, it is from the second case as well, there is no practical reason for me putting it there, it doesn't touch anything.
When closed there is about a 2" space between the mounted arrows and the bow parts, nothing budges.
can this be done with horton crossbow?
The Hortons will fit in about any of the multitude of hard cases made for xbows, the recurves won't due to limb width differences. Piper got a deal.

At Christmas Bass Pro was selling the case for $30 too, I just didn't see the need for it then.

all I have to say is you got a nice setup there.My case I got for my Tenpoint is like hauling a trunk around but it was on sale for 40.00.Iam going to do what you did when I get my recurve,build one out of two.
