When you run out of back serving leave the hook in place and pull on the tag end..

You should pull until the hook is tight against the string.

Now while pulling on the tag end slip the hook out and cut off the tag end leaving about a quarter inch of serving material.

Now light the tag end and when the burning end reaches the serving tap the flame out with your finger but put some spit on your finger so that it does not stick to your finger. Otherwise you'll pee your pants!

Thats it!

What are you using for the serving.
Crossbow serving. BCY or Brownell makes it.

Here is Brownell, look about half way down the page. http://www.brownellarchery.com/products.htm
Cannot find anything on the BCY site but both are called crossbow serving. Both are .036" diameter and braided. Brownell is resin coated and I don't know about BCY.
