I really dislike this competetion fer food! They hunt year around and either sex! We don't, or not allowed to! So its ok fer wolves to kill thousands of big game animals and they don't pay fer hunting Lic. or tag fees! I don't like wolves! Very good pic's, but if i had been there the out come would have been in the moose's favor i can assure you of that!:DThats right i would have killed every wolf i could!:D

RE: Dinner time!

Mike, you'd better bring something bigger than a 22 and lots of them! Many run well over 100 lbs. One of my Alberta buddies was harrased by a pack of wolves. He wacked in the leg and you'd think it would run. Nope it was howling and and running back and forth until he took a leg off with his 300 Win Mag. Then the others came and were howling. He shot at the others and wounded some more. There were 8 of them! The eventually went away. Another guy saw a pack of wolves a few hundred yards away and thought they wouldn't bother him. He was watching a clear cut for moose. A while later he heard a low growl and turned to see a wolf sneaking through the woods towards him. The wolf was so close that the bullet entered the front of the chest and came out of the lower part of the chest. Now that is close! I saw the pictures of the wolf with the entry/exit holes. I am going to ask my friends to send me the pictures. Its years ago but hopefully he still has it.

Don, you are correct! I have also shot wolves in Canada, but Good Lord, not with .22's. The only one which I decided to keep was the White one and had it mounted. It's Paws are 4.5" wide and it's head is a lot larger than a German Shepherd. Wieght was 127lbs and change.

RE: Dinner time!

I don't own but the 22, i have 3 clips and they hold 9 rounds each. If i was up there i would carry a brick of them. I knowed they're fairly big, i have taken some deer bigger with head shots with the pistol. I am sure that i would be hunting with something bigger than the 22. I would take my rifle and tote couple boxes of ammo.

Got one in 20ga and it's my Quail gun.:), but I'm not going to open the safe again!!:D:D

Smokey, I have 48 or 49 Long Guns and half are Shotguns.

Reb, a fully rifled paradox barrel is a contradiction in terms. Is it a paradox barrel? If it is does it shoot sabots well? How does it pattern. A real paradox barrel is supposed to be useable with both.

Yes I under stand that! Thank you:D

Is it a paradox barrel?
Yes it is, but hassignificant rifling.

Yes it shoots Sabots. Well, I have a 200yd range that I used for over 35yrs and was made by the county to cease fire about 4yrs ago. I could place a burned out 5" Flood Lamp and be dead center at 125yds.

A real paradox barrel is supposed to be usable with both.
I understand that, but I have many other Shotguns to shoot Rifled Slugs and Buck Shot so I have never shot anything else but Sabots thru it!

These are timber wolves Shewe. You'll have to smack them in the head. My buddy was shooting at them with a 300 win mag. The bark of rifle didn't scare them off. They were intent on eating him! In that situation they might run. But then again if they were hungry they might wait around. Interesting!
