Arrow Drop
Anyone have info on difference in arrow drop using the same arrow and broadhead in a 150lb, 175lb and 200lb crossbow. Lets say at 30 and 40 yards. Crossbow manufactured by same company but not need be the same model.

If you can get the speeds then you can go here and get relative figures.

RE: Arrow Drop
There are ways you can determine that for your particular bow. For instance if you "0" exactly 4 inches high at 8 to 10 yards a150# strait bow will be shooting about 200 fps and will be dead on at 20 yds a 300fps bow will be dead on at 26-27 yds. This is the way all 3 of mine are sighted insince most of my shots are between 15 and 30 yds I use a regular 2 power rifle scope and know it is 2 inhes high at 15 yds and 2 inches low at 30yds [10 point and exocet 300fps] the other is an old barnett 150 pound strait bow xbow and I normally use it only forbowfishing and froging. RE: Arrow Drop - Awshucks
Awschucks,
I have been on the Hunting Net since 2004. I enjoy reading most items and not much for giving responses. Also due to age and health I am new to crossbows and there is a lot of guys that are glad to help.My home state isn't crossbow friendly so there is nobody to help solve problems. I was lucky this year hunting in Ohio harvested a nice 10 pointer. I like my Horton Summit width, weight and handling. But the trigger is really bad (7 lbs +)so I am considering upgrading. Stay tuned I will have more questions. Thanks Guys, Mike |
RE: Arrow Drop - Awshucks
Sgt Mike: We like ALL xbows here, no matter who has their name on the side. Jump in anytime, we joke alot, but as you probably already know we get real focusedf when some one has a problem. The combined experience on this forum is awesome!
