well guys and fellow xbow hunters , add my name to the list of xbow owners... i just bought the new quad 400, brand new..got it gettin shipped to my door for 390.00...im so high on a kite right now.........gonna have to get with some quad 400 owners and git some specs on the best to set it up, grain and arrow, and broad head size....THIS IS MY FIRST XBOW....but not my first bow...this will be # 4...............got me hog hunt to plan now...thanks for letting me vent ....

Welcome to the world of crossbows! I certainly don't want to rain on your parade, but from all I can read and what I've been told, Barnett is done. There are stories all over the internet about not being able to contact them, stuff sent in for repairs [common occurance w/ them] all in limbo at there main USA office in Florida. I've read that both Cabela's and Bass Pro has quit selling them, and for $390 you could do better. Guys are reporting on a steady basis they don't answer the phone or return emails. Just a tip, in case you might want to bail out before it's too late.

Txhoghunter, we have one gentleman here called Sproule. I think he's shot that bow of your's and set up quite a few for others. You should talk to him!

Anyone have a flyswaatter,I have this urge to smack a duck.
Soon as I get in from shutting the veh's off. -18 out with a -40 wind chill,gotta make sure they start in the am.Its going to get really cold tonight,might hit -30 or so.Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Wholey snow man, ranger it's a balmy 12 degrees F here in Toronto. Hope you're using synthetic oils in your truck. How many block heaters do you use?

Not a syn user and only the subaru has a block heater and if you go to bowhunting forum under shop 2nd phase and youll see why I cant put them in the bsement:).

The Quad 400ispowerful and can be accurate. i have used mine for about three years: Killed several deer and hogs withit.This cross bowrequires more attention than others. Be sure to wax the string and the cables very often. Before you assemble it, put a lot of waxon the cables where they cross under the barrel.Failure to do this will result in frayed cables. Wax the flight deck well and put a lot of wax on the string and cables where they go around the pulleys.Some parts of the cables can only be waxed when the bow is cocked. Getan extra string and cables.

Which scope did you get? Good luck with your Quad 400.

alsagr, i went ahead an took your word for it and bought the extra string(smart move), but i been looking for some cables(key word looking), cant seem to find where to buy.....any ideas?????, hell if i can buy extra back up limbs i would too....

its got the 4x 32, kinda like it too.....thought about the red dot, but my eyes aint what they used to be....
