Ten Point Rail Lube??

For you that understand oil viscosities. What can I use instead of the prescribed Rail Lube for my Ten Point? I have pruce scented gun oil which seems about the same but smells much better and is cheaper.

I guess I want to know ifanyone uses other types of lubefor this.

thanks

Don't use any gun oil or petrolem products. They will eat yer string and serving up. Makes them soft and they will pull apart. I use all natural T/C Bore Butter on my rails. Slicker than owl poop in warm weather, doesn't freeze here in Tn. I spect pure veg. shortning will do the same thing.

Thanks for the great suggestion on the TC bore butter. That rail lube is really expensive for such a small amount. The more I can save the more cool hunting equipment I can buy. Aweshucks told me about this site & from all I've read I can see why he likes it so much.

Dont take this wrong, but with the money you spent on that bow, then all the extras, what the heck does five to ten more bucks make a differance? Rail lube is something you dont want to skip on, a busted serving right before a big hunt, or better yet a broke string is not worth the cost of the rail lube IMO.

What a de-lemma! I'd take a magic marker and write "10 pt" on the T/C Bore Butter at least!:D:D:D Btw: Welcome to the forum. grighT!!

Hotburn has a good point, why take a chance on voiding a warranty for a few bucks?

Apparently its very important to use their lube. It has teflon and you don't use much. It will be false economy to use something else. It takes just a few drops.

Thanks Guys for the info... I like the rationale about the measly $10.
Makes sense to me.

Roman,
It just takes a pea size drop on each side of the barrel. Do that every 100 shots. That tube will last most guys a couple years. Don't use any knid of grease or paste because it will get back in the trigger and potentially gunk it up.
