There are a few Barnett guys on here but not a bunch. Cant say that I remember anything really bad being said. I did a search on them in the CB forum and had 24 hits, did not read them all but you may find what you are looking for in there. I think Moxie has one, but not sure?

Mathews scroll down the page to 8 point finally and look at the xbow by the deer its a quad 300 barnett, with a quad 400 system on it. Ive had this xbow for 3 yrs now and i love it. Ive had no prob with it and recomend it to anybody as for a new xbow it will be and actual 400 or the revolution. i say go for it. But thats my suggestions.

I like the 400 now after spending a bunch of money on it.My
Barnettwas plagued with quality control issues. The sear was backwards-it would not cock. The reticle came loosein the scope. Barnett bolts are mostly junk. Got a package of five with thefletching all bent to heck. The weight of the bolts is not uniform from pack to pack. Looks like they are made by several different factories.

That said, my Barnett 400 is accurate and powerful. Have killed a few deer and hogs with it.The seizing on the bowstring demands careful care or it will unravel in the center. Just had mine replaced.

RE: Barnett Quad 400???

I bought a Quad 300 about 4 years ago, it was an impulse buy. I used it one season and took 4 deer with it....I didn't like the ergonomics (too blocky and had to tape the grip with duck tape, it kept slipping because it was held with one screw), the way the stirrup was attached (it rocked from side to side and was sloppy), the quiver really sucked (it had some funky non-detachable in-line quiver that held two bolts on each side and there was no good place to attach an after market quiver). Having said all that for the price it was a good deal (I think i got it at SG for $199 on sale) and it would sure kill deer.

The next season I upgraded to a Quad 400 and that solved all the complaints I had about the 300 (stirrup, quiver, ergonomics) and I put a $40 Horton red dot scope on it (had to bolt a $10 weaver rail to the sight rail to mount it though).......for the money it's a great setup, it's shoots fast and flat...I've taken about 8 deer with it in the last two seasons. I upgrade this season to a Ten-Point Titan (birthday present from my wife or I would still be shooting the Quad 400) and the Quad 400 is my backup. But I also use a regular compound bow sometimes (Martin Jag), depends on how my shoulder is feeling, which season it is, and which stand I'm in.

Sportmans Guide has the Quad 400 on sale for a little over $200 if your a buyers club member, not sure if it comes with a quiver or not....but you can get that from Barnett I would think or add an after market one......and I would add a red dot crossbow scope, either the Horton or Barnett would be fine, anything else would be overkill, it's better in low light conditions than a regular scope and will run off a lithium battery for a week (yes I left it on that long before).....so forunder $300 you have a setup that will do an excellent job killing deer, and that's even with buying some good bolts........of course if some of your buddies are brand name snobs they might sneer at you, but if you are as good a hunter as they are you'll kill as many deer as if you had a Horton or Ten Point in your hands.
