String Jump
 

I am trying to understand string jumpand how to adjust for it. I am shooting a 10 Point Titan @ 280 FPS. I've been told to aim low at 30 yds or less, I've also been told to aim high at 30 yds of less as the deer will move back up. As far as 30 yds + don't worry. Other research suggests 0-17 yds, no adjustment;17 - 22 yds go low; and 23yds+go high.
What is your experience?

Well now whats cooking here! From 0-30 yds. at that speed,280 fps aim where u want the arrow to hit. I don't think the deer will have time to react within 30 yds. at that speed.:)

These are my thoughts on this subject. My Horton Yukon SL only shoots at around 260 fps and I think my longest shot on any of my deer taken (13) has been 25 yrds. To date, I"ve not had a single one of them "jump the string". Could be luck, but I don't think so! :D
You are talking about a CB that shoots 20fps faster than mine. I don't think you should have to worry about aiming a bit low to compensate for a deer"loading up" to avoid being hit and breaking camp on you. Like what was said earlier, aim where you want your bolt to impact, within reason!Like I've said before, by the time a deer hears that release it's already dead on its feet.

Early in and Smoke pretty well got it right. I've been toying w/ a 20 yd shot w/ an Emax doing 328 fps, the reaction time for a deer at 20 yds., w/ that speed is like 3/16 of a second, lol, ain't gonna happen. My opinion, is take the double lunger and go w/ it, at reasonable ranges, i.e. under 30 yds. Even w/ the 328 fps, 35 is my limit. 36 or 37 they walk, there's always tomorrow.
