Which one????
Are Barnett,PSE,Jennings good cross bows, any help is appreciated!
|
RE: Which one????
And what would be the purpose of these fine instruments? Just hunting, punching targets? Tree stand? How many shots will you be taking a month? Will this be a first bow? If you hunt with it what will you be shooting, Squirrels?
|
RE: Which one????
Thanks for the come-back,It will be my first cross bow,all hunting, mostly
ground blind hunting, with a little ladder stand once in awhile. Thanks for taking the time to help me,my wife wants me to get the Horton Legend I saw a couple of Barnetts are they any good? Thanks again for your time! |
RE: Which one????
Well, if I had to choose between the three that you've mentioned I guess I would have to pick the Barnett. As long as you are not going to be an arrow junkie you'll be "ok" with any of the choices. don't forget that customer service is everything. That being said, I think you are limiting yourself. Why not Horton, Excalibur, Ten Points?
You will get a few opinions very soon! Good luck in your quest. Don |

ORIGINAL: Dnk Why not Horton, Excalibur, Ten Points? You will get a few opinions very soon! Good luck in your quest. Don My opinion also! |
RE: Which one????
What did you mean by limiting myself,by getting the Horton? It was new on e-bay and she thought new,no problems,I had not heard of Barnett
but will look them up! |
RE: Which one????
Very happy with my Horton Legend HD 175. Was hitting 2 1/2 inch groups today at 40 with spitfires.
Shoot a few first and get one that you like. As long as you stick with one of the names you should be OK. Also the more of this board that you read the better informed that you are and the better decision you are likely to make. Mitch |
RE: Which one????
Actually, you said Barnett.
|
RE: Which one????
There is a Barnett 400 and a Barnett Revoluition on e-bay which is the bestone they are within 70.00 of each other.

RE: Which one????
There r a few folks that shoot those Barnetts. I don't knowed much about them and never have shot one. They r fast but heavy, there r always pro's and con's. Thats why u should shoot every CB that has yer interest. Then u can decide which u like better. I like a good comfortable fit, a nice trigger pull alsoa stock that fits my size, so when i look at sights i don't have to go all over up and down to see! I was at sportsmans warehouse 2 days ago and tried out8 CB's from several makers. I liked the Ten pt. PRO FUSION and Hortons REALTREE HD 175, they fit me very well.[:o][:-]:DIf i ever have my ship come in i just might get one of those two![:o]

RE: Which one????
Mike! I just cannot believe you didn't say the E word!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
|
RE: Which one????
Evidently its not in some folks vocabulary, so i have one and thats what counts! They may see the error of dare ways and in da future getstid a fer real CB! No training wheels either![:-][:o]:D

RE: Which one????
What DNK ment was barrnet is a good CB, but not alot of dealers around like horton, excal, and ten point. If you get horton or excal you can usally be back in buisness right away if you have problems. If you get the barnett you may be stuck with mail order only and that can suck. Also most shops and magazines have horton and excal stuff. Not as many for the barnett. But alot of guys whack em with the barnett so dont think we are bashing it.
|
RE: Which one????
Thats right Jason! Only thing I would add is the Ten Point. The single best think a CB buyer can do for himself is to shoot the ones you may buy. Customer service is #1 and #2 is the trigger.

RE: Which one????
I have never heard you guys being so diplomatic!!!! Where is the bashing and stroking of brands that I have become so used to? It seems that no one is saying any Xbow won't do the job. At least Dan was able to squeek in some praise the the beloved Excalibur.

RE: Which one????
Planter, as my Pa used to tell me when i was a tad. U can lead a horse to water but cha can't make him drink! So metaforically speaking their be parties of the first part that don't believe what parties of the second part tell them. So therefore and unto they must learn the hard way! :DSuch is life![:-]
