I Got No Deer
 

Nada, zilch, zippo.I got 3 Excals, but I got no deers. Make no mistake, I like these Excals, but I got no deers. I've shot them alot, know what works best [for me] and am comfortable endorsing them to those who have questions, but I got no deers. The Barnett guys got deers, The Horton guys got deers, same for the 10 pt guys, the Parker guys, all are getting deers. Not me, got no deers. I'm eating bologna and tuna fish, cause I got no deers. I had em all dialed in, but then I got no deers. The weather changed, the muscadines got ripe, all so I could get no deers.

Now, I'm gonna go not get some bears. Got two baits and 3 Excals, but prolly need more bologna and tuna fish. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya, between them bears and deers. Ya'll gig something for me, will ya?

So are u saying because we have Excal Bows we no get deers or bears this year? If we go buy Ten Points and Hortons we will get our game.

Well if it makes you feel any better I have not gotten a deer either. going this weekend to cheeck out some different land to hunt finally somthing good .. have been told their are lots of deer on the land I sure hope so..

NOW that I said that I'm almost guaranteed to not see dittaly for the opener:(

Ijust got back into xbows last fall w/ Emax. Couldn't shoulder my m/l anymore due to shoulder. Killed two small does w/ it and lost a $20 armadillo,lol. More or less switched to the Phoenix, got two squirrels at $10 ea. a hog and a chicken, lol.

My tongue in cheek post here was to point out that all the "brand battles" lol, that have gone on here and elsewhere in the past are moot if you can't get near a deer. I had 38 pics, all hours of day and night in a week in late Sept. Now, nada. My turn will come, got 4 1/2 months, just ain't here yet.

My dad , age 85 years young, just got a 9 point with 19 inch spread.....he got it with his Horten super max. I told him if he had an Excal.....the deer would have been alot bigger with more points.....he mumbled something to me , I don't know what.

Have you tried making Deer Bean soup Dan?? Just look for the small brown navy bean looking things around your stand. It is a thin soup, but soup it is. If you are able to find any Deer potatoes (They look like a really big matted bean) add them. They do thicken up the broth>>>>>Whack!

Dang that has got to be one receipe i ain't even gonna try. Sounds like someone putting out poop with a scoop. Heck i done give up on deers, tried to hunt in sept. and now in oct. still ain't got no shots. I am going after them bears this morning! Be walking out the door after them in another 12 min.:D

Well I got out last night and boy did I have to work the kinks out! It was my first time for the season and was a week late because of work and doctor stuff. But I had in my head that it was warm out so I took my liner out of my coat and only wore a tee shirt. Well after I got into stand I realized within five minuets that I had screwed up! But I was only cold and not froze so I wanted to stick it out. I was there at 3:45, at about 4:30 or so the wind picked up from the north and boy it sucked, but it was the first day so I had to stick it out! Well at deer thirty the sun started to set and at that point I was shaking like a cat craping razor blades and the wind was blowing so hard I was more focused on holding on to the stand then I was deer hunting so I packed it up with about fifteen minuets left of "prime" time to go. Just couldn't stand it anymore! Well I lower the CB, put on backpack and start down stand. I get about ten feet from ground and what do you think I see? Yep you guessed it a buck! He was a little six point only about twenty to thirty yards behind me! I have pics of him on my cuddeback so I would have let him pass this early in the season but I was just mad that I was busted in stand!

Look at the bright side guys, I don't even have a xbow yet, or a muzzleloader, so I have to wait 'til modern gun Nov. 11. I've seen 4 deer on the lease, and 2 wild turkeys, and now I just have to bide my time. I'm hinting real hard to DH to get me a xbow for Christmas.

Hopefull Terri you can tell him you are going clothes shopping and just sneak it in the house. Or.. Buy him a good bow but after you get it decorate it. You know some girly looking glitter or some pics of your Mom. Maybe if you are lucky he will forget your birthday or aniversaryand you can play that card. Good luck and have fun.
