Food Plots
 

Well i have my 2 food plots in, got the one here by trailer prepared yesterday.Used mower, weedeater, heavy rake, fertilizer and 5 lbs. of seed. Clover, Rye grass, wheat,turnip and kale. Its 50x50 ft. and we have rain showers outside. I got the other one done today at pb stand, used weedeater and rake and put out same setup on it. Its 15 ft. wide and 70 ft. long. Can hardly wait until the seed gets to growing. A lot of work and sweat i put into these plots, hope they bring in some fat and tasty ones.:DGonna fill up my freezer and few other folks freezers too.:)

Smoke, I hope you all the best luck with your food plots and harvesting the meat too. I didn't see any mention of Roundup put down a few days before planting for weed control. Maybe you are planing of waiting until the clover is up good before spraying roundup then, which is fine also. Sounds like you know your stuff on food plots so I'm not trying to school ya or nothing. I just wondered when you use it. I only plant corn for my stand. I can't grow nothing but corn and weeds which is all I feel like doing anyway. LOL. The deer can take it or leave, that's the way the drums!

Buddybo, i didn't have the spare change fer Roundup. I was hoping this late in the year my seeds would take better than the weeds. Weedeatered them out of the dirt, and dragged deep rake tines to open ground fer the seeds. Its been doing a slow rain all afternoon and evening, so seed should get a good start.Some should make it and grow. I know every trail on the 65 acres so its just deciding which one i want to put into freezer.:D
