scope covers
I put the Butler Creek Flipup scope covers on my Ten Point Scope today. I have them on all my long guns but didn't have anything on the Xbow scope. I like them but a close friend of mine saw them and didn't like them cause according to him, any pressure pushing on the scope may knock it off target some. This might have been true ten years ago when mounts weren't sturdy enough, but today, I'd like to think the mounting system on my Xbow will handle it. I'm sure Randy will fill us in on this technical question and I'm axous to hear what you guys think about the flipup covers also. So, what do you think?

RE: scope covers
I put the Excalibur scope covers on the Pheonix. Nice tight fit. My only complaint would be that they pop open more often than I would like but they will sure help cut back on the wet or fogged over lenses. Not as many XBow as there arecompound accessories out there which I am thinking is a good thing. I have run out of things to buy. Maybe I could get a couple extra arrows......

RE: scope covers
Been shooting alot for along time w/ all kinds of "boy toys" and don't see any way these lil goodies could have any affect/effect at all. Was shooting gophers when I shoulda been studying English LOL. I like steel rings, weaver mounts, they're bullet proof.

RE: scope covers
Buddy,
I like flip up covers. IF the amount of pressure that they put on the scope causes trouble, you were going to have trouble anyway. I don't see why ther would be any negative effect at all. Just a cleaner lens when you need it. Thanks, Randy |
RE: scope covers
Thanks guys, that's what I was hoping to hear.
