Wondering about using my crossbow to turkey hunt.

Do u guys ever use a crossbow to kill a turkey if so do they die quikly or do u have to chase them? What would u guys suggest for a broad head for tukey hunting with a crossbow? I have a PSE Copperhead Vipper have any of u guys shot or used one of them before? What do u guys think of this bow?

Not that I am an expert but I am the first to be willing to be shot down! LOL. Use the biggest most accurate broadhead (includes mechanicals) along with a Zwickey Scorpio.

Yur right on the money Mike. Those shots are the best. Three years ago I had a 29 lb turkey take a 10 gauge hit from about 15 yard and I had to hit it again just to slow it down enough for me to run it down! Both hits were directly into its back. (I like to spot and stalk cauz it a RUSH!!!) Still had to wring its skinny neck to kill it. That was the best turkey hunt of my life. My hunting partner and I still laugh about it today.

I like using the NAP Gobbler Getter broadheads. They are mechanical and have more of a rounded bullet point for bone-crushing instead of a sharp point for the cutting. Cutting diameter is 1 1/2" with 3 blades.

Try for your shot mid-way thru the wing section for broadside shots(some people recommend just a little low and back to try and clip one or both of the legs) and dead center of the body/back if the turkey is walking away from you.

I haven't yet but my season starts next Monday, the 25th, and I'm using my Barnett Quad 300.

I have taken 3 gobblers with my Barnett , with NAP spitfire mechanicals.all were within 3 or 4 yards of where they were hit.

try to hit at the base of the wing if broadsided, just above the hole if from the back , and at the base of the beard in facing you. thats my shot placement.

if you shot a head that has a cutting point, I would recomend to file the point flat, so as to not go through so fast.
JMHO
