Default How do you handle this?

On another forum I particiapte in I ask the question, "Does anyone here talk crossbow?" Most responses were positive or of the questioning manner; but, one of the regulars popped up and said he was ANTI and that crossbows should not be allowed during the archery season and were not really a bow. He is a member of a state bowhunters association and all of his comments were along the association line. How do you handle these anti's without letting them get under you skin and getting you angry?

Morning Moxie, I would ignore him and when (becuase its just a mater of time untill he starts mouthing off) he starts pounding on ya let him. Turn the other cheek for a little while and report him when you know he's being inappropriate(continual harrassment or emails and PMs). If he's close to you why not challenge him to a shoot off. Guys like that probably haven't shot a crossbow. One cannot imagine a vert bow shooter not getting hooked on xbows unless he's retarded in which case I am sure there are local laws which prohibit the ownership of crossbows to those who are certified retarded.

Ask them what they shoot. Chances are it will be a compound. Wheels, sights, and trigger. According to the latest Cabelas catalogue,
compounds: 53%
Recurves 15%
Stick bows 6%
Xbows 25%
Thank them for starting all of this when the compounds came out and they all rushed down to the bow shops with their checkbooks, for "easier" "more efficient" less "practice needed" forms of equipment.

Ignore them until they rain on yer parade. Then just be honest and tell them they're closet xbowers! They can climb on board or cry when the tide comes in and they drown!

Rebel,,,,, I like your comment and will keep it in mind. Thanks.

To all of you. Thanks for you comments. I've not dealt with this attitude until recently and it threw me for a loop. You've given me many things to think about, Again, Thanks!
