Decided to renew this I posted the question To Bill T. on the ExCalibur Forum as why they chose to partner with Bear Archery and why the quit making the Compound crossbow I have not gotten a reply from him as of yet.. I am not well thought of on the Excalibur Forum I made the mistake of their words were taking a post wrong and responding to it in a way they did not like and it turned into a heated arguement..
anyway maybe someone ealse could post this question to Bill T. maybe one of you might be able to get a response back.

Just to give you a confirmation on your story. There are a few guys there that will just plainly jump down your throat at any opportunity. There is a minor number of guys that seen to have taken the job of being the police. These very few people are over-bearing, over-opinionated, pompous, pontiferous, misguided individuals.
Most of they guys aren't too bad, infact most are pretty helpfull. Some are just as fun loving as the people here but I think some feel a bit supressed.
To my knowledge (gossip at the shops) they had enough repairs on the compounds that made them shy away. I talked to two shops who sold them and they rolled their eyes when I mentioned the name of the bow. It maybe the ususal bashing that happens in this industry but who knows. For all we know there maybe some contactual agreements that stop Excal from discussing the problems.

We have found that our recurve style limb has been historically more reliable and easier to use. Either the Exocet 200 or Phoenix would be a good choice. Hi,

Actually, it was a Paradox in Canada and a Maxpoint in the U.S.. The reason we stopped producing the Paradox is the limb system was manufactured by Bear Archery and they were suffering financial difficulties. We could not afford to add a large amout of tooling to our plant for one model so we stuck with our recurve limb system crossbows. The recurve crossbows gave us far less problems and happier customers so we stuck with what we know. We still believe recurve limb crossbows is a better way to go. Thanks for the pm.

i have been shooting a excal exocet for several years but,i would buy the maxpoint or the paradox if i could find one at a reasonable price,from what i have been able to find they have no more problems than any other compound crossbow,and are very accurate and very fast with a heavier bolt!!!!!!!!!!!!
