I cannot say anything about the Quad 400; but, I have two Quad 300's and love them. I've had a problem with just one involving a peice that broke [the bolt holder]and Barnett replaced it for nothing and it holds a bolt without any problem and shoots like champ. If the 400 is like the 300, it will be a very good crossbow.

I'm like moxie ; I have two quad 300's ; I should say one 300 and one that was upgraded to a 400.I had a problem with small splinters on a limb. I sent the front part back and they fixed it and upgreded it to 400 limbs.

if you have a problem, just call and send back and they will fix at no cost to you.

my wife and I have taken many deer and hogs with ours.can't say enough bout them.I don't think they make the quad 300's anymore; they went to a 400 now.we shoot the spitfire 100 gr. mechanials with alumnum bolts.I am gonna go to Carbon arrows this year.sometimes the alumnum's want to have a bend in them, even from the factory.you have to check each and every one to be sure.I think the Carbon will be better??????????

good luck with your's.

RE: Barnett Quad 400 pros and cons??

I had a Quad 400 briefly, and I didn't care for it at all. Trigger pull was real heavy, I couldn't get it to group under 3" at 20 yds [w/ scope] and ended up blowing it up trying different arrows, as suggested by dealer. There were limbs, wheels, string and ect. all over my shop floor. At the same time I was shooting two Excals, a Vixen, and Exomax, both of which were performing flawlessly. I know there are a lot of happy Barnett people out there, and from what I've heard and read, they do stand behind their products very well.
