i have a yukon sl and i havent taken anything with it yet...but in my target practice its pretty accurate(3 bolts in a group as big as a golf ball from 30 yards) for the price i think its a solid xbow

O yeah it could easily take down a deer... i looked on a chart and it said you need like 40 pounds of energy to take down a deer(i think) the Yukon has 60 pounds, thats enough for a black bear...with my Yukon i like to keep the distance to about 35 yards max.... i amextremely accurateat that distance...i could shoot and hit the target(about the size ofdeervitals)at 40 but its out of my comfort range...ill double check on the chart though

Studies recommend that an arrow deliver 25 to 39 foot-pounds of energy to kill animals with thin hides and light bones. If you're after large game with thick hides, your bow should deliver 40 to 80 foot-pounds of energy. If you seek boxcar-sized African animals, you'd better eat your Wheaties. Theoretically, you need 80 to 129 foot-pounds of energy.

These thin hide and light boned animals are caribou, black bear, deer, and elk...so the Yukon has 60 so it is well capable of killing deer.

:Dok i have another question do you use the arrows that come with the crossbow or did you buy different arrows?do you use red dot scope or what?

RE: Yukon sl

I used the arrows that came with it for target practice(untill they bent about a week later) then i switched to Hortons Carbon Strikes (i highly recommend carbon) they shoot straigter and more durable...No red dot just the peep sight....i havent got around to buying a red dot plus my deer season is almost done...works fine for now
