Old Camp stove?

I have an old never used army surplus camp stove, its a single burner. Its marked and dated on top of its carrying case:

U.S.
ROGERS - AKRON OHIO
1952

My question is, in the directions it says to use gasoline. Does anyone know if it would be OK to use camp fuel in it also?? I know coleman has a duel fuel stove that uses either gasoline or camp fuel.

I know years ago we used to use white gas. The premium stuff, it was cheaper than the coleman fuel. But with prices nowadays who knows.
