if you use just one chest for the meat, and use block ice and only open it to get meat out , it should last you.
Just work out each meal, package that meat in seperate packages and open get it and close.always keep that chest in the shade and you got it.

I have had block ice last well over a week.

Dry Ice or Freeze the meat, Freeze your water, Freeze your butter, juice etc. Don't open the cooler unless necessary. Keep in the shade and maybe even throw a blanket over it. A group of us guys used to camp on the Islands in Lake George and never had a problem. It was also summer when we went. Always had cold drinks and food.:) Just eat what thaws first. But even after it thaws it will still stay good for a few days. Igloo marine coolers are great, wish we had them back then.

check with the stores that have bag ice.
if you can't find any , just take bag ice a week befor you go and put water in with the ice and put in freezer and you got a solid block.
take a box a little smaller than your chest, that way it will fit when your ready.a cardboard box in you freezer will work great.

......or take your two gal. milk container, fill 3/4s full with water and freeze, this allows for expansion. After that, they make good " stackable building blocks" in your cooler. As the guys above said, plus it all depends on what part of the country you come from.
As for me( being inCanada), I have no problem with worrying about getting my meat cold after the hunt. Usually about 15 minutes after we gut the animal, it is frozen, or at least REAL cold

redneck......we carry a chest type frezzer in front of the flat bed tandum trailer
we carry out west to go hunting.Drop-in about 1foot of dry ice on bottom and
a rack over the ice so the meat won't touch it.
We make it all the way back from CO. to Fla. and keep it for a few days more in
there.
I don't know how many hour's or days you plan to keep it on ice?
So, a small piece of DRY ICE will go a long way.
