Here's a recipe I got for bear meat from the old fellows up in Maine.
Take a large cut of bear steak, put it on a pine board and season it to your liking. Place the bear meat and the board in the oven and roast at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs. Take it out of the oven, throw away the bear meat and eat the board.

Laughed out loud at that one :)

RE: Can you eat bear?

I took a bear up in Ontario a few years back and had all the meat converted to salami. I wold slice it up and put a hunk of velvetta cheese on top and microwave for just a sec or two. Toss in a few cold brews and it wasn't to bad.

But then again, I could eat boiled possum and enjoy that after a few cold one's to....... Just depends on how hungry you are.
