RE: Does venison taste good deep fried?

Sorry to disappoint Al, I'm a Maryland grad. My buddy I hunt with is a WV grad too, as is his wife. We went to the first game together and I got some ribbing in. Maybe this time it's his turn! Personally, I just want to see a good game, regardless of who wins. I am not a venomously loyal fan by any means.

I'm not either, Doug. Like you I just want to see a good game. Nothing is worse than getting excited to watch a game and having it be 28-0 in the first quarter.

I can't believe the score was even more lopsided than the first game...

The deer went over really well. First, I soaked the meat overnight to draw as much blood out as possible. Then I cut it into pinky sized strips, as outlined in the posts above. I marinated it overnight in Kraft Zesty Italian dressing, and coated it in chicken batter just before frying. I have found that with my propane fryer, to get it to 350 degrees, it is best to get it up to about 425 degrees, then put in the meat, since it takes down the temperature. It is impossible to keep the temperature constant.

We had differnet dips to try it in, but the Frank's red hot hot sauce was preferred by most.
