Picked it up yesterday from Lowes

I'll be curious to hear how this compares to a Traeger.

upon researching I read various reviews that the PitBoss is a better buy then the Treager

I had a Pit Boss and it worked great. Just make sure to keep covered when not in use and drain pellets when not in use. The pellets swell up and turn hard as a rock around the auger and it is a pain to get clean after that. I now have a Camp Chef version and really like it for the ease of cleaning the ash tray. Other than that the Pit boss is very comparable.

Off topic but I just picked up a Blackstone Griddle and absolutely love it. Been making Hibachi, Philly cheesesteaks, pork chops and of course bacon an eggs. Cooks great and clean up is a breeze.

I know a couple of guys who have a Traeger and swear by em. Naturally I had to taste test the BBQ just to make sure they weren't pulling my chain. Definitely good BBQ. It sounds like your Pit Boss will work quite well.

So now that you've had it a few months how do you like it? I got a Traeger last year and am really happy with it. I was planning to buy another brand and there was a mix up at the store so they upgraded to a higher priced Traeger for no additional charge. I have heard good things about the Pit Boss. I would say they are as good as any in that price range. I use my Traeger 100 times more than I used my gasser.

I got a pit boss last summer. What I like about it is how well it’s built. It’s pretty heavy duty. Thinking of smoking a heart at Christmas.
