Hi-Country Jerky Mix

I have been making home made jerky for a while now and the other day I tried Hi-country Original Recipe Jerky Seasoning and I must say its instruction where easy to use and most important it made very tasty. I would recommend it to anyone who loves making home made jerky like I do.

I made this with Spice N Slice mixes . off our Elk we got last year .

It is so easy .. we just mixed it up and shaped it and baked it .

I used the Hickory and Garlic / Cracked pepper. Was very good. It makes 15 lbs per packet so not too bad for the price.

I like the Hi-Country stuff too. Very tasty!

It's all I use to make jerky! I've tried other mixes and wasn't happy with them.

I like the hickory, mesquite, and cajun. The inferno is just salty hot by itself, but adds a nice kick when mixed with one of the other mixes. The cracked pepper & garlic was my least favorite.

I`ve been using this product for almost ten years. We thoroughly enjoy it, good flavours and easy to make.

I've this and Eastmans. I also have the same Dehydrator you do. If you check out my video, you'll see a trick on laying out your meat that will allow you to get a lot more the trays. You can get up to about 7# of jerky sticks on there if you pack it right and air can still flow between them. Another thing you might try is cutting back the water and adding in other things. Hot sauce, Worchesteshire, liquid smoke, all work well and lend new twists to the already great spices.

You need to fill that tray up. I start at one edge, like the 9:00 position and shoot a strip up and down. Then another right beside it from the top edge to the bottom edge, and so on all the way across the tray. You could get three times that amount of jerky on that tray!
