Does anyone use corncobs to smoke with
I was thinking of trying corncobs to smoke with. In the small town I live in, 3 brothers had a butcher shop and they used cobs for all their smoking. The name of the shop was the OK meat market, located 25 miles west of Omaha. People from all over came to buy their famous Wahoo wieners and other smoked meats. They sold the business when they all retired. The business is no longer, the new owners just didn't do it like the brothers did. Zeak

Zeak--
I don't think that I would try a very big batch until I found the secret. I grew up on a farm, we burned corn cobs sometimes and I don't remember that the smoke smelled very good. Maybe it is better on meat, tho. |
There was a place in Vermont that did that same corn cob smoking years ago.
