Waterlogged meat

As you can tell by the number of my posts I am a novice hunter and am in need of some help.

I actually got a deer a couple days ago, quartered it and put in on ice. When I got home a couple of the ziploc bags busted in transit and the ice water soaked the meat.

Someone please tell me that the meat is not ruined (or unfortunatley if it is).

As long as its cold it is fine. No harm.

I wouldn't be worried about, just dry it up before processing or cooking. That water soak got the blood out of the meat thats all.

I have seen people soak larger cuts of deer meat in salt water similar to what some do with rabbit and squirrel. The meat is fine.

Thanks again. I'm very happy I can still eat it.

When I butcher one , I skin it then cut it into large rough cuts and pack in ice in a big cooler for a couple days then finish processing it as I have time. just remember to drain water every once in a while and add ice as needed. As posted before, it gets alot of the blood out.
