Jersey, Great idea for a quick cup. I've been using the same old perculator over the fire at both unting and fising camp for years. The dang thing looks like hell but makes the best coffee. Sure, sometime a few grounds fall in but everyone loves that brew. Making that pot of coffee each morning is one of the best parts of the day.

my great grandfather use to soak his coffee grounds in egg whites over night then boil it with the water and add cream and sugar. since he died in 1997 i have never tasted coffee like that since then. he called it German Coffee. anyone hear of this done?

Popeil is currently hawking a cold brew system for $20 that makes a concentrate you can add hot water to, supposedly it makes a good cup of coffee that's less acidic. If I have to choose between a cup of that and some instant I know what i'd go with.
