RE: In the Still of the night
I've never built one, but there is plenty of info out there on it. Have you checked the Internet? Also, the old "Foxfire" series of books on how things are and were done back in the "hills" gave some very detailed and graphic information. You may want to type in "Turbostomper" into search on the net.
I've never made my own, but have been seriously tempted many times, and have looked some of this stuff up before.......

By the time you buy all the ingredients and the components to build the still, you could just go out and buy licquer in the store - much cheaper.
You would need a burner and a copper kettle and lot's of copper pipe and a new aluminum racing radiator for a condenser. A couple of 55 gallon drums - for things like the thumper and a cold stream of water. Pipe fittings and such are not cheap!

Rifleman-----I totally agree wiyh you on the cost aspect. But you know, there's just something about doing for yourself that appeals to some of us, I guess. Probably the reason I've made my oun venison bologna and jerky for years......a little "survivor" in us...........
