Propane Crock Pot
 

I just ordered a propane crock pot by Coleman off of Ebay. Anyone ever used one of these. They had them in Bass Pro for $99 a year ago. I got one brand new for $34 plus shipping. I figured for that price it was worth a try.

There's one in cabelas on salefor I think 64.99 reg 99.00. I like the concept, never used one though.Lets know what you think. ;)

I have never heard of them . They sound interesting, just what you need in a remote camp to have a hot meal when you come in. Let us know how they work and how long they would last on a one poundbottle of propane.

According to the add it will run 4 hours on high and ten hours on low. It should be here next week so I will let you know how it is.

Well I got to use my crock pot last night and right now I have mixed reviews. It works great the problem is even on the lowest setting it is still to hot to leave something alone for a while without stirring. If you are going to be sitting with it all the time it is great. If you lift out the crock it has a small round burner just like a gas grill. There is not a lot of space between the flame and the crock. I am thinking about making four legs about two inches tall with a flat metal plate in between the legs. This will lift the crock up and the flat plate will be spread out the flames and be between the flames and the crock. This way if I wanted to put on a pot of chili or soup and leave it alone for an hour or two it would not scorch. I ran it on low for over four hours and it still had gas left.

I have a 12v Crock pot that works great. Plug into cig lighter.
