Chest Freezer

I am new to elk hunting, and was wondering what the minimum size chest freezer would be large enough to fit the meat from a mature bull into. Thanks for any input.

Sully20,

I have a 16 cubic ft freezer and I have been able to get 2+ (the + was my deer and 2 antelope I had) elk in mine with room to spare.

It depends on how its butchered. If you debone everything a 7 cu-ft would be lots. I personally have 3 freezers 7,21,22 cu ft.and two fridges.

I personaly perfer uprights, easier to find what your looking for and harder to bury what your not.
