RE: Fried Deer Nuts ???
No matter what they are, how you make em, or how they taste.
When it is all said and done.... You just ate BALLS!!!!! |
RE: Fried Deer Nuts ???
We usually quarter them the long way and soak in a little brine overnite. Shake them in a bag (no pun intended) with some flour, salt and pepper. Then deepfry them till they float. Stir them with some BW3 wing sauce and bake on a cookie sheet. We call em Buffalo Balls-Leota style. Best served with beer. lots of beer.

RE: Fried Deer Nuts ???
It's not the idea of eating them is bad, it's what's in them that seems to be the problem.:D

RE: Fried Deer Nuts ???
My question is who was the first man to look at them and say , "Hey, we could fry them suckers up! Gotta be tasty." Still get a tingly feeling in the groin every time I think about them being sliced up and fried.
Really, I'm sure people will eat them and ENJOY them, BUT........just not for me! Thought issue.. |

Just to jump in on this thread. I know that it is an old thread. Calf fries are pretty darn good. I eat them every chance I can. That was one thing that was looked forward to at weaning time.
