BBQ turkey

Last week at a family outing (catered) the company broguht a large pan of BBQ tukery, shredded like beef or pork for sandwiches. I am thinking about this for the super bowl as it was a huge success. I was thinking of getting like a 6 pound turky breast and coooking in the crock all day and then shredding and BBQ'ing. Ive never done a trukey breast in a crock pot before. I was just going to add some broth and let it cook. Any ideas or suggestions. I didn't plan on seasoning it a lot as that will be done with the BBQ.
Thanks.

RE: BBQ turkey

If you can get it like pulled bbq, get some nacho chips, and put the bbq on next then pour your nacho cheese over that and smother it in bbq sauce and the bbq dry seasoning. MMM MMM GOOD!!! it's de-freakin-licious.:)

RE: BBQ turkey

this fall i killed me a nice hen. skinned it, cleaned it and threw it in the sink and said "grama!! help me cook this thing!...but i skinned it so we gotta make sure it dont dry out" so she got out this recipe book from WAY back in the day. the recipe called for all the ingredients to MAKE BBQ sauce and i think onions. sooo i bought my favorite BBQ sauce and onions(not sure if it called for onions or i added them myself) but we crock potted that thing and all i can say is WOW. it fell apart on its own. i put the whol bird in there and a bottle of BBQ sauce. plus an oninon inside and sliced up a couple and mixed it in. it was delicious though. i ate most of the turkey myself over a couple day period. noone else would eat it..but they didnt know what they were missing. but thats exzactly how it turned out was like pulled pork. and thats how i ate it.
