Stupid grinder question of the day
I just got a #32hand grinder on sale the other day. I have read on here that it is easy to put the blade(s) in backwards. Mine did not come with assembly directions so I was wandering what way they go in. At first I figured the edges should point towards the back so as the meat was fed towards the front by the worm grear it would pass over the blades and get cut prior to pushing through the front plate. However it turns smoother with the blades facing the front up againts the front plate.

RE: Stupid grinder question of the day
blades should be towards the front. That way when the meat is pushed towards the plate and thru, it gets cut by the blade. I got a hand grinder last yr and intend to put a motor on it myself. Just need a fly wheel.

RE: Stupid grinder question of the day
Always put the blade and plate on the same way each time. mark them so you know, after awhile they will fit precisely and be married to each other.you don't want to put the plate on backwards as it will throw this marrage out of wack and won't perform to it's potential. The blade sorta sharpens itself this way. And always make sure to tighten up good. Even if you need to hit it with a block of wood to loosen, Wood not a metal hammer.:)
