Default Grinder Deal???

There's a guy at work that has this grinder for $125 Northern Industrial Tools Electric Meat Grinder |Grinders | Northern Tool + Eq. Do ya'll think this is a good deal for this grinder. He says he has never used it. I've seen it and it doesn't look used. I figured if I grind 3 or 4 deer with it I've got my money back.

Thanks
Chad

A 1 hp motor with capacity of 260 lbs. per hour , sounds like a heck of a grinder for $125. I don’t think I would be hesitating. I would just take the head apart to check for worn out parts and run the motor to see how it sounds. Also check the knives for good clean edges or if they are all dinged up but other then that it’s a good deal...

I have the same one that's not stainless for $99.
I grind about 3 deera year plus 2 hogs. Works fine. a bit loud andbut bogs very little and has never stopped due to over filling. It will put the Kitchenaid to shame. I've had mine about 6 yrs and no complaints.

Sounds like a deal to me. I sure wish my 1hp SS grinder was only 125 bucks.

Follow trailers suggestion about giving it agood going over before giving him the cash.

Everything looked good on it, the guy says its never been used. He probably stole it. He used to work at Winn-Dixie. oh - well

One question How tight do you tighten the press plate down. It says to not over tighten, but what is tight enough, but not tight enough?

finger tight. don't horse it. it'll kinda tell you when it's ready

Brad

also, when your finished with it, wash, dry,and oil the drive parts with vegetable oil before storage. They will rust if you don't.
