elk don't have no fat in it. so my wife and i have been cookin it in a covered pyrex pan in the oven with some olive oil and seasonong. comes out tender and tasty.

I don't get real fancy cooking food. For my elk, all I do is put some olive oil in the pan, sprinkle garlic, pepper, and some salt free Mrs. Dash, and when the oil is hot, put the steaks on, and only turn ONCE. I like the middle nice and pink. Comes out good every time. I also cook pork, beef, and other venison this same way. Works for me.

Wealso do it that way, butI really like it in the Linguine Sauce!
