RE: prepping crawfish?
mine are all round like in a minnow trap, I used a piece of heavy paper like poster boardto cut till I got it to fit right then I used that as a pattern on my hardware cloth that way I diddent ruin much but it pretty much looks like a regular ol round funnel like you use to put oil in your car.

RE: prepping crawfish?
Dont forget LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION you wont catch many in fast moveing water, or just a slick bare bottom, and I never catch many in deeper water. If you can find a grass flat in a slow moveing river or a nice little grass filled spot off to the side then your set, they love mud, slow moveing water, and cover and the grassy areas seem to provide exactly what they want. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

RE: prepping crawfish?
Where I have in mind is shallow, muddy, with lots of old logs laying around by an abandone railroad bed. I think it will work good there.

RE: prepping crawfish?
I don't know about where you live at, but in Texas at almost any grocery store we can buy crawfish boil a sack with all the ingredients needed.. Boil them with new potatoes, corn on the cob.. together... pour on to a table lined with news paper or brown paper sacks and enjoy... Drain water first...:D invite lots of people and serve with cold beer... ( don't drink, but I remember how good it was with this dish)
