RE: Kitchen aide products
When I just started out processing and making my own sausages and stuff, I bought the attatchments. They work perfectly fine. The only reason I purchased more professional equipment was because I started to do alot of grinding and smoking. I still use it for small batches as its in the kitchen and handy. But for an all day affair I break out the other stuff. I highly recommend the Kitchen-aid for a start. It will grind and stuff casings.

If you're grinding for your own deer, the Kitchen Aid grinder attachment is the best. Sells for around $50 and is all you need. Had mine several years and many deer have passed throught the blade that comes with it. It dfoesn't take long and is a pleasant experience. Keep the items refridgerated before using, and make sure he meat is cold...almost firm, just short of frozen before grinding. This especially true if you're adding pork fat.
