Not since survival school ... [:'(]

Actually , they're not all that bad as long as you remember to "milk" the undigested dirt from them before cooking . Other than that the only complaint I have is that they're real chewy .

Seems to me they are better on a hook, then eat the fish the worms catches...

Yes but the big ones are easier to grill

Don't you mean "fillet" ?

Rev , sometimes worms and fish don't come in the same package , and when you haven't had a bite in a few days they stop looking so unappetizing . Mix 'em with a bit of powdered egg and some sauteed wild asparagus and they aren't half bad . It helps if you chop them up very finely to both tenderize them and hide their identity . Be sure to split them and wash out the grit first .

Next week: How to properly fillet a grasshopper , pay attention , there will be a test .

Take two dozen earthworms (I use the medium Nightcrawlers) and wash the dirt off them. Pour four tablespoons olive oil in a hot skillet and saute the worms until they slow wiggling to just a twitch. Drain oil.Add a dash of oregeno, 1 minced garlic clove, and 1/3 cup minced onion. Garnish with a sprig of parsley.
Arrange on a platter with marinated escargot (snails).
Invite some local sniveling French over to eat....you go to Taco Bell and get some good food.
