Stake over the fire.

I have been camping 2 times this year and both time I have cooked stakes in a basket over the fire. They were the best stakes I have ever eaten, all I did is lightly season them with season salt and cook. My girl freind was inpresed. they tasted alot better then stake on the grill, you guys shoud give it a try.

Also any good, simple resipies that I could try on my next trip, for anything fish, steak, the list goes on. Everything I make is so simple, same old same old.

I like my steak Marinated for a couple days in virgin olive oil and vinegar and many erbs and spices. Then grill it while pouring the marinate on the steak causing the flames to flare up.Then finish it off with onions, mushrooms, peppers laid on top and all sealed in a homemade barbecue sauce. And finish it off with 7 types melted cheese sealing the sauce in. Making a layerd feast

I too like olive oil (2 parts) as the base for marinating just about anything.
From there you can add (1 part) soy sauce or vinegar/balsamic vinegar or
worcestershire sauce (had to look up that spelling). Also your
favorite wine. Lemon, lime or fresh squeezed orange juice.
Then add your favorite spices. There are some good pre-mixed available.
Just don't leave out the fresh ground black pepper. Use your imagination and try it on beef, chicken, pork and fish. Get some vegetables in there too, change up the mix some (but again, olive oil is the best starter).
Mix it up and carry to camp site in zip-lock bags marinating all the way.
A gas grill is great for home, but nothing taste better than cooking over hard-wood coals.
